Endemol Shine North America Adds DJ Nurre, Bolsters Exec Roster
Nurre joins the studio as executive vp unscripted original series, one of several appointments.
Following the 2017 addition of Sharon Levy, Endemol Shine North America is further bolstering its unscripted executive ranks with several promotions and hires — most notably bringing on DJ Nurre as executive vp unscripted original series.
“DJ is one of the most respected and accomplished producers in unscripted TV,” Levy, president of unscripted and scripted TV at Endemol Shine, said Wednesday in a statement. “I’ve worked closely with him over the last decade on numerous series including Bar Rescue and he’s always shown great instincts and leadership skills. I’m thrilled he’s joining our team here at Endemol Shine.”
Most recently of 3 Ball Entertainment, Nurre will oversee all unscripted current programming at the studio, as well as all pilots and presentations. The seasoned showrunner spent 13 years with 3 Ball, working on such series as Bar Rescue and Catch a Contractor.
“I am honored to be working alongside my longtime friend and periodic creative sparring partner Sharon Levy,” said Nurre. “I’m immensely proud of the shows we’ve made together over the last 10 years and look forward to continuing that success with her and the incredibly talented team here at Endemol Shine."
In addition to Nurre's new gig, the company has named Dan Cazzola vp, international development, unscripted, and tapped Lisa Fahrenholt as vp, international development, scripted. (Fahrenholt will continue to also oversee finished program acquisitions and co-financing opportunities for Endemol Shine International.)
“After getting to know my new Endemol Shine colleagues from around the globe and seeing all of the diverse, amazing content this company produces, it was clear that we needed experienced executives on our team here in North America identifying both unscripted and scripted opportunities," added Levy. "Dan and Lisa are just that, both have worked for our company internationally and have great programming instincts.”
Furthermore, unscripted programming senior vice presidents Georgie Hurford-Jones and Robin Feinberg add MasterChef and Fear Factor franchise initiatives to their respective purviews.
