Endemol Shine USA Sets New Unscripted Team
Led by president Eden Gaha, the reality house formalizes new executive ranks in production, programming and development.
Endemol Shine North America's unscripted house, Endemol Shine USA, has firmed up its new executive ranks.
Seven months after the merger that brought Endemol, Shine and Core together, the company's booming unscripted unit announced new leadership — including Linda Giambrone's appointment as exec vp and head of unscripted production and Georgie Hurford-Jones' arrival as senior vp unscripted programming.
“Along with Rob Smith, our exec vp and head of unscripted television, we have assembled a truly stellar team of producers and production executives at Endemol Shine USA, many of whom are already hard at work on our existing hit franchises and also developing what we believe will be the next wave of unscripted hits,” said Endemol Shine USA unscripted television president Eden Gaha.
Endemol Shine USA's unscripted portfolio currently includes such broadcast series as Big Brother, MasterChef, MasterChef Junior, The Biggest Losers and new summer series Bullseye and The Island.
Formerly exec vp and head of production for Shine America, a position she's held since 2011, Giambrone expands her unscripted purview in the move. Along with her, Rob Day stays on as exec vp of production and oversees production on syndicated talker Steve Harvey. And Rachel Dax rises to senior vp unscripted production, reporting directly to Giambrone.
Hurford-Jones comes to Endemol Shine from America's Got Talent and has previously served as senior vp at Simon Cowell unscripted shingle Syco TV. Robin Feinberg joins him on the team as senior vp unscripted programming, and Michael Brooks keeps his senior vp title in the move over from Shine America.
In development, Michael Weinberg has been promoted to senior vice president, the same title held by Chris Culvenor — also making the move from the old regime. Joining them is Laura Gibson and Christopher Potts, both new vice presidents of unscripted development. Gibson joins from AOC Productions, while Potts comes over from Lionsgate’s Banca Studio.
