Entertainment Lawyer Stein to Merge Firm

Well-known entertainment litigator Larry Stein will merge his law firm with commercial litigators Browne Woods & George, the two firms announced Thursday.

The combined firm, to be called Dreier Stein Kahan Browne Woods & George, will begin operation January 1 and remain an affiliate of New York-based Dreier Llp.

Beverly Hills-based Allan Browne and his 17-lawyer group will move to the Dreier Stein offices in Santa Monica and Century City.

"The merger is a winning proposition for our clients," said Stein, whose has represented David Duchovny, Lionsgate, World Poker Tour and the Olsen twins’ Dualstar Entertainment. "The principals of the firms have enjoyed close professional and personal relationships for years and have referred business back and forth, so we have a strong basis for collaboration moving forward."

Stein’s 54-attorney group split in January with Marshall Grossman, his partner since 2000. Grossman’s group recently joined Bingham McCutchen.
