eOne Nabs World Sales Rights for 'Full Frontal With Samantha Bee' (Exclusive)
The studio gets into business with TBS and Turner Studios to distribute the series starring the longtime 'Daily Show' correspondent outside North America.
Indie distributor Entertainment One has secured the rights to Turner Entertainment’s Full Frontal With Samantha Bee outside North America.
The world rights deal follows the Feb. 8 U.S. premiere of the weekly late-night show hosted by Samantha Bee that drew over 2 million viewers. The longtime Daily Show correspondent's TBS show airs Monday nights and features both topical segments and in-depth field pieces.
Bee's Full Frontal is executive produced by Jo Miller, Miles Kahn and Jason Jones. "We’re delighted to be in business with TBS and Turner Studios who have some of the most exciting projects in the pipeline,” Marci Wiseman, executive vp, global business and legal affairs and production at eOne, said Friday in a statement.
"Samantha is an incredible talent with great international appeal and we're excited to add it to our diverse offering," added Jessica Watson, manager of acquisitions at eOne.
The Toronto-based international entertainment company already handles international distribution for original scripted series from AMC and Sundance Channel. The slate of original and third-party series includes The Walking Dead, Hell on Wheels, Rookie Blue, Rogue, Klondike, Bitten and Welcome to Sweden.
