Indie studio Entertainment One has hired Zev Foreman as president of film production, charged with overseeing the development and production of the studio's expanding global slate.

The former president of production at Voltage Pictures, Foreman worked on numerous movies like Colossal, the Anne Hathaway sci-fi movie, and executive produced the Oscar-winning Dallas Buyers Club. He will report to Nick Meyer, eOne’s newly installed president of film.

Foreman's hire follows Meyer joining eOne when the studio acquired the remaining stake in Meyer and Marc Schaberg’s Sierra Pictures earlier this summer to build eOne’s competitive position in the film business. Schaberg has since joined eOne as executive vp film and global operations.

Since partnering in 2015, Sierra and eOne have worked together on a number of high-profile movies, including Atomic Blonde, as they look to expand their production slate. "Zev’s industry experience and understanding of where the global filmed entertainment marketplace is going will be a key component as we continue to expand our film financing and producing footprint,” said Meyer in a statement.

Foreman in his own statement said he aims to "help shape the identity of the company in the feature film space."

His other film credits include William Friedkin’s Killer Joe and Andrew Niccol’s Good Kill. As a director at film financier Grosvenor Park, Foreman worked on movies like The Hurt Locker, another Oscar winner, and Ed Zwick’s Defiance.

Foreman is married to Blair Rich, president of worldwide marketing at Warner Bros.
