Erica Motley joins Till's crew at Icon

New York-based exec will help source projects

LONDON -- New Icon Entertainment International CEO Stewart Till kicked off 2010 by hiring New York-based exec Erica Motley to help source projects to bolster the sales division's roster.

Motley will work with IEI head of development Chloe Sizer and Icon U.K. acquisitions chief Toby Hill to sniff out projects for the company's international sales unit.

Till told The Hollywood Reporter in November that one of his immediate ambitions for the recently acquired Icon U.K. and sales operation was to ramp up the roster of projects it reps at international markets and festivals.

Motley worked with Till at United International Pictures, the jointly operated overseas releasing giant for Universal and Paramount, She served as vp international acquisitions at UIP, managing relationships with sales agents, producers, writers and directors. Acquisitions included "Elite Squad" and "Old Boy."

Her resume also includes stints at HBO, Fox and Shine Entertainment, where she headed the Elisabeth Murdoch-owned company's film operations.

Till said he hoped Motley's hire will help Icon build on her "fantastic relations with the U.S. filmmaking community" and said she'd be the point of contact for "all U.S.-based producers, agents and financiers."
