Venkateish leaves after seven-year stint

NEW DELHI -- ESPN Star Sports India managing director R C Venkateish has resigned, ending his seven-year stint at the network with immediate effect.

ESS said that COO Vijay Rajput will take charge in the interim period until Venkateish's successor is named, the company said in a statement

During Venkateish's tenure, ESS acquired broadcast rights to major properties such as cricket's ICC World Cup, Champions League T20 and the FIFA World Cup.
