ESPN Star names Craig Dobbs exec vp

Will oversee programming, production in newly created post

BANGKOK -- ESPN Star Sports has named Craig Dobbs to the newly created post of executive vp programming and production.

Based in Singapore, Dobbs will oversee both the production and programming departments for ESS around the region and report to Manu Sawhney, the regional sports broadcaster said Monday.

A 26-year veteran of production, programming and content acquisition at Nine Network Australia and Ten Sports Australia, Dobbs was most recently director of content acquisitions at Fox Sports in Australia.

Dobbs helped expand Fox from one channel to seven, and broaden its programming from sports into lifestyle, youth and action genres, making it one of the most efficient and profitable production media companies in Australia.

"With his creativity, passion and unique blend of experiences in programming and production, I'm confident Craig will be a great asset to our team, reinforcing our position as Asia's top sports content provider," Sawhney said.
