EuroNews tops with Europe's high-income group

Channel reached 17.6% market share

BRUSSELS -- EuroNews is the ratings leader among the international news channels watched by Europe's high-income audiences, according to a new study.

It reached a 17.6% market share of the 40 million most affluent Europeans, ahead of CNN at 16.7%, Sky News at 14.7% and BBC World News at 12.4%.

The survey, by EMS/C-EMS, also showed that 21% of upmarket Western Europeans and 55% of their Eastern European counterparts do not read foreign newspapers or watch foreign news channels in English. That's 11.8 million opinion leaders and decision makers who are not captured by the English-only news environment.
