Eva Longoria to Launch Clothing Line
The actress will introduce her new label in fall 2016.
Eva Longoria may be best known for playing the loud-mouthed and flashy Gaby Solis on Desperate Housewives, but when it comes to her personal style, the 40-year-old says she prefers styles that are "classic and comfortable" rather than too trendy. And it's this effortless chic look that Longoria plans to bring to her new line of clothing, which will launch in fall 2016.
The actress, who has dabbled in fragrances and bedding before, is finally embracing her love of fashion after years of sewing dresses and costumes for herself and friends. “Now it’s time to move into apparel,” Longoria told WWD. "Before, I was just too busy.”
The yet-to-be-named line is licensed under Sunrise Brands, which is also working on Melissa McCarthy's Seven7 collection, due out this fall. Longoria's first collection will consist of "dresses, career apparel and casual sportswear," though she hopes to eventually expand into handbags, accessories and shoes. Distribution and price points are also undisclosed at this time.
The ultimate goal, she says, is to "offer women versatility while evoking confidence, comfort and a sense of glamour.”
