Avery Lipman has been named co-president of Universal Republic Records, a division of Universal Motown Republic Group. Lipman, who most recently was senior vp at the label, will oversee the label's management and creative operations.

Camille Hackney has been elevated to senior vp branch partnerships and commercial licensing at Atlantic Records. Hackney, who was vp strategic marketing, will be responsible for all brand relationships and advertising agencies for Atlantic Records and its artists as well as all commercial licensing from the Atlantic catalog of music. She will be based in New York.

David Tetreault has joined D3 LED as senior vp marketing and business development. He will oversee marketing and business development efforts while managing all media strategy and development as well as executive positioning. He most recently was at 20th Television, where he was vp marketing for eight years.

Claudia Butzky has been promoted to vp strategic marketing at BMG Label Group. Butzky, who was vp digital sales and retail marketing, will now be involved in managing joint-venture partnerships for the label and cultivating and expanding business development opportunities.

Karen Roberts has been named senior vp acquisitions at Entertainment Studios, where she will be responsible for identifying and pursuing films that support the company's overall acquisition strategy, including projects for theatrical, television, home entertainment and new media/digital distribution.

Walt Disney Motion Pictures has hired veteran Canadian movie marketer Greg Mason to handle marketing on its Canadian releases. Mason, most recently vp marketing and sales at Canadian exhibition giant Cineplex Entertainment for five years, will oversee all marketing of Walt Disney titles countrywide as vp marketing. Mason, who started his career at Buena Vista Pictures Distribution in 1993, will report to Brett Dicker, executive vp at Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures.

Channel One has tapped Angela Hunter as senior vp and executive producer of Channel One News. She will oversee the network's programming operations and work to ensure Channel One reporters unprecedented access to international breaking news. Before this appointment, Angela was an independent producer on projects for TLC, the Travel Channel, MSNBC, Court TV and Fuse.
