The HD Expo team has made several senior staff appointments under the direction of CEO Kristin Petrovich. Evie Silvers joins as an account executive from Movieola Hollywood, where she was an HD camera rentals and educational programs specialist; Jordan Ryder, who has held operational roles with NAPTE and HBO's Las Vegas Comedy Festival, has been named operations manager; and Glenna Daily has been named administrative coordinator.

Marc Barson has been appointed deputy general counsel at Starz Media, where he will manage day-to-day legal and business affairs for the company. Barson will continue to serve as vp business affairs production and will report to Starz Media general counsel Steve Beabout.

Steve Rossman has been named managing director of marketing strategies and new media for the newly created Gersh Marketing Group at the Gersh Agency. Rossman will manage the agency's clients in the areas of commercial, media and celebrity endorsements, marketing as well as branding and corporate strategy consulting. He has served in various positions at 20th Century Fox and Endeavor.

John Moakley has been promoted to senior vp data solutions group at Gemstar-TV Guide International Inc., where he will oversee data collection and distribution business for the company. Moakley, who joined TV Guide in 1999, most recently was vp technology for the company's content infrastructure group.

Shari Yoder Doherty has been named executive director of marketing and communications at Grouper, a growing user-generated video community on the Internet. Doherty will maintain marketing, branding, partner marketing, promotions and public relations for the company. Doherty joins Grouper from Danger Inc., where she was senior director of marketing.

Ripple, a developer, distributor and programmer of out-of-home digital networks, has made several appointments to its executive team and board of advisers. Joe Hasenzahl joins as vp operations from BCBG Max Azria. Adam Korman, who was at Yahoo! Music, has been named vp design and user experience. Matthew New, also from Yahoo! has been named vp products. Jason Seldon, who was with the Walt Disney Co., has been named vp finance and administration. Ron Vaisbort, from Intel Media, is vp corporate alliances. Kerry Coin and Amin Vahdat have been appointed to the board of advisers.

The Playboy Entertainment Group has made some senior staff appointments under the direction of new senior vp programming Bryan Postelthwait. Todd Schwartz has been named vp programming for Playboy TV, and Michael Spierer has been named vp programming and acquisitions for adult networks. Schwartz joins the company from Branded Media Corp., where he was senior vp strategic development. Spierer, who has been with Playboy since 1999, was promoted from director of programming at the Playboy Entertainment Group. Postlethwait most recently was head of programming and promotion at New Frontier Media.
