Marlene Toyama has been named senior producer at AvatarLabs, a full-service motion graphics and online design studio. She will aid in the development of new business opportunities and oversee the daily activities of the AvatarLabs team. Toyama comes to AvatarLabs from Tribal DDB, where she was account supervisor.

Marc Leonard has been promoted to senior vp multiplatform programming at Logo. Leonard, who had been vp programming since November 2004, will oversee the programming of Logo content on mobile phone devices, portable media players, download-to-own services, podcasts and broadband online.

Paul Jelinek has been named senior vp digital media at A&E Television Networks, where he will oversee the network's consumer Web sites including AETV.com, History.com and Biography.com as well as the creation and execution of digital media business development strategy for AETN.

BAFTA East Coast has named a new executive team including Christina Thomas as CEO, Gillian Rose as chairman, Harlene Freezer as vice chairman, Vernon Chu as secretary and Joe Confredo as treasurer. Each officer will serve for two years. New appointees to the board of directors include Neil Benedict, Catherine Branscome, Jill Hawkins, Susan Margolin, Lisa Oberhofer, Jane Rimer, Daniel Rosenberg, Keith Sherman, Claire Tisne and Susan Wagner.

Ken Kay has been promoted to senior vp and GM for the Eastern zone at Showtime Networks. Kay, who most recently served as vp and GM of Showtime Networks direct-to-home, will manage several accounts, including Comcast, Time Warner, Cox, Cablevision, MediaCom, Insight and Verizon. Additionally, Anne Droste has been appointed senior vp and GM of the Western zone, where she will be responsible for DirecTV, EchoStar, Charter, Suddenlink, NCTC, AT&T and Qwest. Droste has held sales and marketing positions at GSN, Meredith Broadcasting, PBS Kids and the Documentary Channel.

Alvin Fu has been appointed managing director at 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment China. He will be responsible for developing local launch strategies and promotional campaigns for Fox films in the China market. Fu joins Fox from Heinz-Meiweiyuan (Guangzhou) Food Co., where he served as managing director.

Pradeep Mittur has been named vp interactive and mobile entertainment for the Asia Pacific region at Paramount Digital Entertainment. Mittur will be responsible for the company's interactive and mobile businesses in that region. Mittur has served in various sales, marketing and business development positions, most recently at the Walt Disney Co.

Nomi Ernst Leidner has joined Sundance Channel as director of development, where she will oversee the production of the third season of "Iconoclasts" and supervise the new music series "Live From Abbey Road." Leidner was a supervising producer at the Style Network and has produced projects for VH1, MTV, A&E, Court TV and CBS.

Heidi Vogel has been appointed vp sales for feature film services at AMG. Vogel, who has held positions at HBO and the Sundance Institute, will promote audio postproduction services provided through such AMG facilities as Todd-AO, Soundelux and Sound One.
