Eric Swanson has been appointed to the newly created role of vp programming and acquisitions at MSG Media, where he will be responsible for managing the programming department and overseeing critical programming functions. Before the move, Swanson was vp international and programming sales at IMG Media.

Jay Frank has joined CMT as senior vp music strategy, charged with overseeing the company's music and talent division as well as on-air and digital music initiatives. Frank had been at Yahoo Music, where he was vp music programming and label relations.

Andy Mellet has been elevated to senior vp VOD at Warner Bros. Digital Distribution, where he will have increased responsibility for the company's U.S. and Canadian VOD and pay-per-view businesses. Mellet most recently was vp VOD, overseeing sales, marketing, finance and operations and licensing of all Warners theatrical and television content to the cable, satellite and broadband VOD and PPV markets.

Tanya Giles has been appointed to the newly created position of senior vp research and planning in the entertainment group at MTV Networks. Giles will oversee research and planning for all multiplatform business units affiliated with Comedy Central, TV Land and Spike TV as well as the division's digital assets, including AtomFilms, iFilm, Xfire and Gametrailers.

Beth Higbee has been appointed to senior vp and GM at Scripps Networks Interactive. She will focus on the creation of disruptive new organically developed businesses to drive growth for the company. Higbee has been with Scripps since 2000, serving as vp new media and overseeing the development of FoodNetwork.com.

Bob Pederson has been upped to senior vp creative director, on-air brand creative at Comedy Central. He had been vp of the on-air department since 2000. Pederson will continue to oversee all on-air brand creative and expand creative development of the network's efforts in branded product integration. Pederson, who is based in New York, will report to Peter Risafi.

Jason Uhrmacher has been promoted to director of development at Don Mischer Prods., where he will develop new television programs for the company and analyze the viability of production concepts. Previously, Uhrmacher worked on several awards shows as well as the films "Wedding Crashers" and "Bad Santa."

Craig Robinson has been appointed executive vp operations and digital strategy at KNBC-TV Los Angeles. Robinson will be responsible for the network's strategic operations and digital-media initiatives, including the growth of existing digital projects KNBC.com, YourLAtv.com, Channel 4.4 and Weather Plus. He most recently served as president and GM of WCMH-TV in Ohio, where, under his direction, the station had set ratings and revenue records since 2002.

John Hamlin has joined CMT as senior vp production and development. He will oversee all Nashville television production and development, including series, events and music production, and will report to head of development Bob Kusbit. Hamlin, who will be based in Nashville, has received five national Emmy nominations and two wins and is a recipient of the Edward R. Murrow awards for newswriting from the Radio-Television News Directors Assn.
