'Extra Man' to open Sarasota Film Fest

Program includes tribute to director John Landes

Robert Pulcini and Shari Springer Berman's "The Extra Man," starring Kevin Kline and Paul Dano, will raise the curtain as opening night film at the 12th annual Sarasota Film Festival, running from Apr.  9-18 in Sarasota, Fla.

The festival, featuring more than 160 films, will include a tribute to director John Landis; a staged reading of a work-in-progress, “Queer,” written by Oren Moverman and directed by Steve Buscemi; and, as closing night film, James Franco's documentary "Saturday Night," which follows the production of the series "Saturday Night Live."
