Fall Watch Trends: The Color of Money and Mother-of-Pearl Dials
Fall's timepiece trends bring shades of green to the men's dials and mother-of-pearl power for women.

1. Harry Winston
As part of the 20th anniversary of its Ocean Collection, Harry Winston debuted this 36mm Ocean Moon Phase watch in 18-karat rose gold, featuring a brown mother-of-pearl dial splashed with diamonds to evoke stars in the sky. In addition to a moon-phase indicator, a date window between 7 and 8 o’clock also is surrounded by diamonds; $46,700, at Harry Winston, New York and Beverly Hills.
Butterflies in mother of pearl have been mixed with paved diamonds on the dial of the Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust 31 in 18-karat Everose gold. A date window is featured at the 3 o’clock position while the 31mm case, on a President bracelet, also is embellished with diamonds; $55,250, at Ben Bridge Jeweler, Torrance, and London Jewelers, New York.
3. Audemars Piguet
The mother-of-pearl dial and small seconds subdial are offset in the Millenary Hand-Wound by Audemars Piguet. On a bracelet of 18-karat rose gold, the horizontal oval case, also in rose gold, is embellished on the bezel and lugs with 116 brilliant-cut diamonds; $47,000, at Audemars Piguet, New York and Beverly Hills.
A new in-house automatic movement has been designed to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Chopard’s Happy Sport watches. The white mother-of-pearl dial and Happy Sport’s signature floating diamonds are featured in a 30mm, diamond-accented case of 18-karat rose gold; $20,800, at Chopard, Costa Mesa and New York.
5. Patek Philippe
Patek Philippe’s Ref. 5072R Ladies’ Aquanaut Luce in 18-karat rose gold features a mother-of-pearl dial engraved in a checkerboard pattern. The bezel of the 35.6mm case is highlighted by 40 baguette-cut diamonds; $87,320, at Geary’s, Beverly Hills, and Wempe Jewelers, New York.

1. Grand Seiko
The newest dial on the Grand Seiko Hi-Beat 36000 GMT is inspired by iridescent peacock feathers to achieve its unique shade of green. Features on the dual-timezone GMT include a second hour hand and a date window at 3 o’clock in a 40mm stainless-steel case and bracelet; $6,500, at Seiko, Beverly Hills and New York.
Swiss brand Anonimo is inspired by Florentine design — its latest collection, Epurato, includes this green sunray dial in a 42mm cushion-shaped case in bronze, with a date window at 6 o’clock, all on a dark green felt strap; $3,240, at Feldmar Watch Company, Los Angeles.
Inspired by nature for the latest additions to its True Thinline collection, Rado recently introduced this 40mm ceramic quartz watch, dubbed Leaf for both its color and for the leaf pattern embossed on the underside of the mother-of-pearl dial; $2,100, at Feldmar Watch Company, Los Angeles, and Tourneau Time Machine, New York.
The latest color mix in Hublot’s Classic Fusion collection is this satin-finished green sunray dial in a 42mm case of satin finished and polished 18-karat King gold, an exclusive color crafted in a hue slightly more red than traditional rose gold. The alligator strap also has been designed to perfectly match the dial; $19,300, at Hublot, New York and Beverly Hills.
Its varnished emerald-green dial made this Sixties Panorama Date by Glashutte Original one of the biggest hits at the Baselworld watch fair in March. The retro-chic timepiece features an oversized date at 6 o’clock; $9,300, at Wempe, New York, and Westime, Beverly Hills.
