Family Channel snoops out 'Roxy' rights


TORONTO -- Canada's Family Channel has purchased the Nickelodeon TV movie franchise "Roxy Hunter" from Dolphin Entertainment.

Toronto-based Family Channel scooped the exclusive Canadian rights to as many as 15 films about a spunky 9-year-old detective to be made over the next five years. The first, "Roxy Hunter and the Mystery of the Moody Ghost," will bow May 19.

The first four titles in the "Roxy Hunter" franchise were shot in and around Toronto.
