Farrell joins Tanovic's 'Triage'

Colin Farrell will star with Paz Vega and Christopher Lee in Danis Tanovic's "Triage" and also will take an executive producer credit on the film based on the novel by Scott Anderson.

Tanovic, whose "No Man's Land" won the Oscar for best foreign-language film in 2002, will direct from his own adaptation of Anderson's book.

The film will be produced by Alan Moloney of Parallel Films and Cedomir Kolar and Marc Baschet of ASAP Films, with Tim Baish, Free Form and Mariela Besuievsky of Tornasol Films co-producing.

"Triage" has backing from Aramid Entertainment and the Irish Film Board; London-based sales and finance house Hanway Films will be selling the project in May at the Marche du Film in Cannes.

The film is scheduled to begin shooting this month on location in Ireland and at the Ciudad de la Luz studios in Alicante, Spain.

Rai Cinema and Canal Plus already have boarded the film for Italy and France, respectively.

Farrell will star as Mark, a photojournalist who returns home from a dangerous assignment. When his colleague and best friend fails to return home, Mark's girlfriend, Elena (Vega), must find the clues to the mystery that's slowly killing her boyfriend.
