"F*ck Hollywood" Lipstick Brand Will Donate All Profits to Charity During Golden Globes Weekend

Lipslut is standing in solidarity with the Time's Up initiative.

Lipslut, the cosmetics company founded by college senior Katie Sones from her Cal Poly San Luis Obispo dorm room, is standing in solidarity with the actresses who have chosen to wear black to the Golden Globes by donating 100 percent of this weekend's proceeds (Jan. 6-7) from their "F*ck Hollywood" lipstick to anti-sexual harassment organizations, including Time's Up.

The brand launched the mouthy lipstick — a follow-up to their uber popular "F*ck Trump" lipstick launched in the wake of the 45th president's win — late last year as a reaction to the revelation of Hollywood's toxic culture that allowed sexual misconduct to flourish in the industry. "I don’t think a few good movies every year warrants systemic sexual misconduct," said Sones of why her company chose to support the cause.

As with the "F*ck Trump" lipsticks, 50 percent of profits from the sale from each $20 "outspoken" red liquid matte lipstick are donated to various charities. Since launching the shade in November, Sones says that the Lipslut team has raised nearly $80,000.

But with actresses tackling the issue head-on this weekend at the Golden Globes, Sones is happy to stand with them. "I think wearing black is a great way to raise awareness at such a high-profile event," she told The Hollywood Reporter. "Creating visibility and maintaining the conversation is imperative if change is to come."

This isn't the first time that Lipslut has tailored their giving to reflect the times. Back in August, the company briefly donated 100 percent of profits from their "F*ck Trump" lipsticks to the victims of violence in Charlottesville, Virginia, who were injured while counter-protesting neo-Nazi groups. Lipslut raised more than $40,000 for the victims.
