FearNet inks deal with TWC

Agreement will extend net's reach by 8.4 million

FearNet, the horror-thriller focused joint venture between Comcast, Sony Pictures TV and Lionsgate, has inked a distribution deal with Time Warner Cable that will extend its reach by 8.4 million digital-cable homes around the country.

The deal will bring the on-demand service's total reach to 29 million homes when it launches on TWC by August.

FearNet, which also encompasses a Web site, launched in 2006. It features a mix of original programming and library titles from Sony Pictures and Lionsgate. New originals include a sequel to its miniseries "30 Days of Night: Blood Trails" titled "Dust to Dust," from Ghost House Pictures. The network said it will announce more new projects in the coming weeks.

FearNet on Demand also is available on Comcast, Cox Communications, Verizon FiOS and Insight Communications.
