'Feet' stretches legs on Imax

TORONTO -- Imax Corp. said Tuesday that the penguins of Warner Bros. Pictures' "Happy Feet" are growing some long legs as the film posted the highest-grossing second weekend ever for a digitally remastered Hollywood movie in Imax theaters.

Toronto-based Imax said the animated film pulled in another $2.25 million at the Thanksgiving weekend boxoffice from 79 large-format screens, including three overseas.

That takes the "Happy Feet" Imax cume to about $6 million, and follows the Warner Bros. effort putting up a record opening weekend of $2.4 million for a digitally remastered movie.

Imax will next march "Happy Feet" out in Buenos Aires and throughout Mexico.

Imax currently operates about 280 theaters in 40 countries.
