FICCO director steps down at fest

Paula Astorga leaving to pursue film projects

MEXICO CITY -- Paula Astorga, co-founder of the Mexico City Contemporary International Film Festival, has stepped down as director to pursue personal film projects.

Raquel Cajiga, who has a background in tourism and media, has replaced Astorga.

With Astorga's help, festival sponsor Cinemex launched the film fest in 2004. Known for its sophisticated programming, the so-called FICCO has become one of the nation's top festivals.
