Fight Net takes battles mobile


TORONTO -- The Fight Network Inc., which operates a Canadian digital martial arts cable channel, on Friday said it has signed a deal to repurpose and distribute its programming on cell phones, PDAs and other new digital platforms.

The Fight Network, based in Toronto, has partnered with Oakville, Ontario-based Movidity to create a digital Fight Network portal on that will stream Web and mobile-based martial arts content.

The digital offering on will provide both live and library content from the Canadian-based digital cable channel.

Fight Network president Mike Garrow said that providing TV content on will enable on-the-go fight fans to stay tuned to his network.

Earlier this week, the network announced a separate deal to supply an initial 26 hours of martial arts combat programming to American One Sports, which reaches about 20 million U.S. households.
