Lee mansion might serve as museum

A mansion that once belonged to Bruce Lee in Hong Kong might be preserved as a museum, local media reported. Billionaire philanthropist Yu Panglin had put Lee's two-story, 5,699-square-foot townhouse in an upscale leafy Kowloon suburb up for sale but later changed his mind. "I will consider the views of the community and different parties," Yu said.

Chapman chairs SMPTE

Paul Chapman was named chairman of the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers, Hollywood section. Chapman is a 12-year veteran of Burbank-based postproduction facility Fotokem and currently serves as senior vp technology. THX's Allan Schollnick was elected secreatary/treasurer of the Hollywood section.

Duo swim to 'Doplhin'

David Keith and Ivana Milicevic will star in the indie "Way of the Dolphin," produced by Michael D. Sellers' Quantum Releasing and Susan Johnson's Braveart Films. Filming will begin Monday on Grand Bahama Island, with Johnson producing and Sellers directing from a script by Wendell Morris.

Independent expands

U.K. movie financier and sales outfit Independent is creating a digital distribution division. The new division, named Independent Digital, will be headed by former United International Pictures exec Eric Stevens and has undisclosed cash backing from Living Capital Group. Independent Digital will operate as a stand-alone division and work alongside Independent Film Sales.
