FilmBuff picks up Obama documentary

'11/4/08' will be released on various VOD platforms in Oct.

VOD-based distributor FilmBuff has picked up Jeff Deutchman's "11/4/08," which bills itself as a "participatory documentary."

The feature film consists of footage Deutchman collected from filmmakers around the globe who trained their cameras on the day Barack Obama was elected president.

"11/4/08" will be released on various VOD platforms in October after a one-day theatrical event that will include screenings at the Philadelphia Film Festival, the Hawaii International Film Festival, the Film Society of Lincoln Center, the Alamo Drafthouse in Austin and various Emerging Cinemas locations around the U.S.

Produced by Deutchman and Natalie Difford, the film had its world premiere at the SXSW Film Festival in March.

Created in 2007 by Cinetic's Robert H. Nathan and John Sloss, FilmBuff handles digital rights management and distribution.
