FilmOn, India's Zee Team on Online Bollywood Channel (Exclusive)

Zee Bollyworld TV will offer movies and other content and will be available free on computers, tablets and other mobile devices.

Online TV provider has struck a partnership with big Indian media group Zee Entertainment Enterprises to launch customized channel Zee Bollyworld TV.

The free channel will offer Bollywood movies and other Indian content with English subtitles to the Internet company's 65 million monthly unique users worldwide.

According to the companies, this is the first time that one global platform has carried Zee TV programming, which has so far only been available on a regional basis in some parts of the world before.

"Zee Bollyworld on will showcase some of the very best programming that India has to offer, including great Bollywood movies, chat shows and top drama," said FilmOn Networks founder and CEO Alki David. "Our new custom-made channel will be available free straight to desktop, tablet or mobile."

With the channel also available in India and other markets, the emphasis is on Indian audiences in the U.S. and U.K.. according to Zee global head, syndication Sunita Uchil. "We are confident that the new channel will be of huge interest to Indian communities within the USA and the U.K. and also to anyone who wishes to enjoy the rich diversity of content from India," she said.

In addition to being one of India's leading broadcasters, the Zee network claims an audience of more than 959 million viewers across 169 countries, the company is among the largest producers and aggregators of Hindi language programming, with an extensive library offering over 120,000 hours of TV content while holding rights to more than 3,500 Hindi film titles.

FilmOn offers more than 600 free and subscription-based TV channels and audio/video podcasts updated daily, plus 50 audio channels and over 90,000 on-demand titles. FilmOn also programs Dish Network channel 6 in Los Angeles, the 24/7 FOTV Network on Sky channel 237 in the U.K. and Freesat channel 410 in Europe.
