Filter inks deal with

Burgeoning firm also recently signed deal with Dailymotion

NEW YORK -- Content recommendation service the Filter has struck a deal with to power its short-form video recommendations, marking the firm's first TV network deal.

Based on the vision of music star Peter Gabriel, the Filter will be charged with bringing "relevant video selections from NBC's catalog to the forefront, providing easy discovery for users," the companies said.

A trial had boosted the number of video streams per session on the site.

The Filter has positioned itself as a way for companies to boost digital media consumption and user engagement. After deals in the music space, the firm recently signed a deal with Web video site Dailymotion.

"As we continue to enhance and develop our offering across different media, we look forward to strengthening our relationship with, providing the Web site with the most highly targeted and timely video recommendations," said David Maher Robert, CEO of the Filter.

Stephen Andrade, senior vp, digital development and general manager, at NBC Universal, said the commercial agreement will help users find new and compelling content, thereby driving video consumption.
