Fink gets a new look as VFX chief at Prime Focus
EmptyMichael L. Fink, a veteran visual effects supervisor who won an Oscar and BAFTA this year for his work on "The Golden Compass," has been named president of visual effects worldwide at Prime Focus Group, a Mumbai-headquartered postproduction/VFX giant.
Fink will serve as senior VFX supervisor for projects awarded to the company's Frantic Films VFX business and oversee the integration of visual effects production for all of the Prime Focus Group VFX facilities worldwide.
Prime Focus comprises one of India's largest post/VFX entities with six facilities throughout that country as well as four sites in London that make up Prime Focus U.K. It entered the North American market in November with the acquisitions of Hollywood post house Post Logic Studios and visual effects business Frantic Films VFX, which gave Prime Focus ownership of operations in Los Angeles as well as a presence in New York, Vancouver and Winnipeg, Canada.
"It is tremendously exciting to be involved with Frantic Films, a group I have worked with before and hold in the highest regard," said Fink, who will be based at Frantic's Hollywood facility. (partialdiff)
