First Myriad-407 vehicle is 'Hybrid'
EmptyMyriad Pictures' first project from its recent first-look deal with comic publishers Studio 407 is the live-action eco-horror film "Hybrid."
In a prestrike deal, Peter Kwong will adapt the screenplay from his eponymous comic book. The plot follows vacationing college students stalked by a mutant creature from the deep. The monster, who emerged from polluted waters, gets his revenge on humans by "fishing" for them in the sea.
Myriad president and CEO Kirk D'Amico and Studio 407 managing director Alex Leung are producing. Principal photography is tentatively set to begin in mid-2008 off the coast of Thailand.
Kwong's comic book version of "Hybrid" will be published in June.
