Bret McKenzie, one half of the musical comedy duo alongside Jemaine Clement, broke two bones in his left hand after a fall down a flight of stairs.

Flight of the Conchords are grounded for the time being, as Bret McKenzie needs time to heal.

The comedian/musician/producer fell down a flight of stairs, resulting in two broken bones in his left hand and the immediate postponement of the New Zealand act's scheduled dates in the U.K. and Ireland.

"I’m sorry not to be able to do these upcoming shows but I’m looking forward to coming back and finishing the tour when I have two fully functioning hands," McKenzie wrote via Instagram.

McKenzie, together with bandmate Jemaine Clement, was in the midst of the Flight of the Conchords Sing Flight of the Conchords Tour, which kicked off in Portsmouth, England, on March 5. The 22-date trek was initially intended to wrap at London's O2 Arena on April 3.
