The live show airing on Fox on Dec. 15 will feature performances and honor the top acts in country music

Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard, the country duo who perform as Florida Georgia Line, will host Fox’s American Country Countdown Awards on Dec. 15.

The new show is based on the country music radio countdown show, American Country Countdown With Kix Brooks.

According to an announcement Thursday by producer Dick Clark Productions, the telecast will honor top acts in country music with awards and include performances and additional surprises.

The show will be broadcast live on Fox from the Music City Center in Nashville.

"Bryan and Tyler are incredible artists and friends with undeniable chemistry that will make them the perfect hosts," said Dick Clark executive vp programming and development Mark Bracco.

Best known for such singles such as "Get Your Shine On" and "Cruise," Florida Georgia Line recently broke the record for having a song ("Cruise") the longest at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Country Singles Chart. That song is also the best-selling digital country single of all time.

Their latest single to go gold is "Dirt," from their second album, Anything Goes, which will be released Oct. 14.

The band also is behind the Dirt Campaign, working with the fundraising platform Omaze to benefit Habitat for Humanity, the nonprofit that creates affordable housing for low-income families.

The duo, who have been recording since 2011, have won honors for their music from the ACA, AMA, ACM, Billboard, CMA and CMT Awards.

The American Country Countdown Awards will be produced for Dick Clark by Allen Shapiro, Mike Mahan and Bracco, along with John Dickey of Cumulus, Richard Godfrey (MTV Europe Music Awards) and Tom Forrest (CMT Crossroads). Baz Halpin is co-executive producer.

Dick Clark Productions and The Hollywood Reporter are both owned by affiliates of Guggenheim Partners.
