Paula Wagner, Guillermo del Toro also feted at film festival

Forest Whitaker, Paula Wagner and Guillermo del Toro will receive career tributes at the 46th Chicago International Film Festival, which runs. Oct. 7-21.

The festival will screen more than 150 films from 50 countries.

Whitaker will receive a career achievement award Oct. 9 as part of CIFF's annual Black Perspectives Tributes. Previous honorees include Halle Berry, Sidney Poitier, Morgan Freeman and Ruby Dee.

Wagner, whose films as producer include the "Mission: Impossible" franchise, will receive the Renaissance Award on Oct. 12, presented as part of the fest's ReelWomen program; del Toro will receive the Visionary Award on Oct. 15.

CIFF is the oldest competitive film festival in the U.S.
