Fox 2000, Scooter Braun Partner for K-Pop Movie

Elyse Hollander, the writer behind the Madonna biopic 'Blonde Ambition,' will pen the screenplay.

K-Pop is coming to the big screen.

Fox 2000 is partnering with Scooter Braun's SB Projects and Epic Magazine for a feature film set in the world of Korean pop music. The untitled feature centers on an Asian- American college student from the U.S. who becomes a top competitor on South Korea’s toughest K-Pop Competition show. 

Elyse Hollander, the writer behind the Madonna biopic Blonde Ambition, will pen the screenplay.

Braun, who has a history in the K-pop genre working with Korean musicians Psy and CL, will produce. James Shin will also produce for SB, along with Epic's Joshua Davis and Arthur Spector. SB's and Epic's Joshua Bearman will exec produce, along with John Zaozirny of Bellevue Productions. Erin Siminoff and Jiao Chen will oversee the project for the studio.

Epic is currently working with Apple and Big Sick writers Emily Gordon and Kumail Nanjiani for an immigration-themed anthology series, Little America.

Hollander is repped by WME, Bellevue and Hansen Jacobson.
