The romantic comedy is being described as 'Sleepless in Seattle' meets 'Her.'

Fox 2000 has picked up the rights to sci-fi love story Happiness Is for Humans.

It was preemptively acquired as a partial manuscript before the London Book Fair, where it was a hot title among international publishers.

When completed, the book will be published by Little Brown in the U.K. and Grand Central in the U.S.

Fox 2000 will team up with Eric Fellner and Tim Bevan's Working Title to produce the original romantic comedy.

Written by P.Z. Reizin, Happiness Is for Humans is described as Sleepless in Seattle meets Her. The story follows two A.I.s that learn to process human emotion as they attempt to match-make two people from whom they are learning about humanity.

In 2015, Fox 2000 was behind the film adaptations of John Green's Paper Towns and Nicholas Sparks' The Longest Ride.
