Fox gives rivals two-hour 'Dance' lesson


NEW YORK -- Fox took Wednesday's primetime, dancing around reality competition on NBC and ABC.

A two-hour "So You Think You Can Dance" (8.9 million, 3.6/12) gave Fox wins in all four half-hours between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. Not even close were the premieres of NBC's "Last Comic Standing" (6.9 million, 2.8/8) plus new episodes of NBC's "Deal or No Deal" (8.2 million, 1.9/7) and ABC's "American Inventor" (6.3 million, 2.1/6) and "Next Best Thing" (6.1 million, 2.0/7).

The second hour of "Last Comic Standing" (7.3 million, 3.2/9) gave NBC the win at 10 p.m. in adults 18-49, though a repeat "CSI: NY" (8 million, 2.1/6) came out ahead of it in viewers. Far behind in third place was ABC's drama "Traveler" (4.1 million, 1.3/4).

Nightly averages: Fox (8.9 million, 3.6/12); NBC (7.3 million, 2.5/8); CBS (6.1 million, 1.7/5); ABC (5.5 million, 1.8/6); and the CW (2 million, 0.8/2).
