Fox Group ups Tuzon in shuffle

Fox Cable executive Rita Tuzon has been named executive vp and general counsel at Fox Networks Group, News Corp.'s division encompassing Fox Broadcasting, Fox Cable Networks, Fox Sports and Fox Networks Engineering & Operations.

As a result, the reporting structure of many FBC senior business executives is being adjusted.

Tuzon, Fox president of sales Jon Nesvig and the broadcast network's executive vp network distribution Jon Hookstratten will report to Fox Networks Group president and CEO Tony Vinciquerra.

Nicole Bernard, senior vp broadcast standards and practices, and Minna Taylor, senior vp legal affairs, will now report to Tuzon. FBC's vp legal affairs for network distribution, Karen Earls, will continue to report to Hookstratten but will now also consult with Tuzon.

Tuzon had served as executive vp business and legal affairs and general counsel for Fox Cable Networks since 2004, supervising all legal and business affairs for Fox's regional and national cable networks.

"Over the past several years, Rita has demonstrated keen instincts and a strong strategic approach to problem-solving at the cable group," Vinciquerra said.

Previously, Tuzon also spent seven years as senior vp litigation for Fox Group.
