Fox International adopts 'La Otra Familia'
Plans to distribute Mexican feature in Latin AmericaStaff report
Fox International Prods. has acquired Latin American rights to Gustavo Loza's Mexican feature "La Otra Familia" (The Other Family), which it will distribute in Latin America.
The film tells the story of a gay couple who take in a seven-year-old boy after he is rescued from his crack-addicted mother.
Twentieth Century Fox de Mexico previously collaborated with "Familia" producer Matthias Ehrenberg on the films "La Hija del Canibal," "Vivir Mata" and "Sexo Pudor Y Lagrimas." Ricardo Kleinbaum also served as producer on the new film.
Writer/director Loza's credits include "Atletico San Pancho," "Al Otro Lado" and "Paradas Continuas."
The deal was negotiated by FIP's Tony Safford and Ehrenberg.
