Fox int'l unit ups Londono to president

ROME -- Fox International Channels has named Diego Londono its new president in the wake of Emiliano Calemzuk's departure for Los Angeles and the top job at Fox Television Studios, the company said Thursday.

Calemzuk had held his position at Fox International Channels since the company was created in 2002.

Londono has been a been a key player in the company during that time, most recently working as vp in charge of marketing, sales and research. Before 2002, Londono, a 10-year News Corp. veteran, had been the marketing and communications director for Fox in Latin America.

"(Londono's) contribution has been fundamental for the success of Fox in Italy, and he is a natural successor to Emiliano," said David Haslingden, president and CEO at Fox International Channels. "I am sure he will be a great leader for the growth of our company in Italy."

Said Londono: "I am honored that this opportunity has been offered to me. Our objectives continue to be that we want to offer (parent company) Sky Italia the best content possible and to move the company forward."

The change is effective immediately.
