Fox Movie Channel/FX Movie Channel has upped Adam Lewinson to senior vp programming and production.

In his new role, he will continue to be responsible for programming, production and day-to-day operations at Fox Movie Channel. In addition, he'll take on an increased role as FX Movie Channel builds its programming block.

"Adam has been instrumental in the evolution of Fox Movie Channel and we are fortunate to have his movie expertise and production savvy as we grow the FX Movie Channel daypart," Chuck Saftler, exec vp at FX Networks and GM at Fox Movie Channel. Lewinson will report to Saftler.

The executive, who first joined the network in 2004 as vp programming, has overseen development and production of the network's original series including Fox Legacy With Tom Rothman, Life After Film School and more. The network received its first Emmy nomination and win for the series Writer's Draft under the executive.

"This is an exciting opportunity to take the network to a higher level,” Lewinson said in a statement announcing the news Wednesday. “With FXM, we have a phenomenal catalog of contemporary films, as well as the ability to grow our award winning original programming about the filmmaking process. Plus we’re able to maintain our dedication to classic movie lovers with the FMC daypart.”
