Fox News Names Comedian Tom Shillue as New 'Red Eye' Host

He takes the gig in the wake of Greg Gutfeld's departure for his new Sunday night series.

Fox News Channel has found someone new to stay up late.

After the departure of longtime Red Eye host Greg Gutfeld to focus on his new Sunday night show and ongoing contributions to The Five, the network has named Tom Shillue as his Red Eye replacement.

Red Eye, for those with normal sleeping habits who might not know, is the cable news network's weeknight 3 a.m. telecast that often treats news with the delirious perspective that one might expect at that early hour.

Shillue has been pinch-hitting since Gutfeld left, most recently hosting on Tuesday night. The stand-up comedian, who's made the late-night TV rounds, was a regular Red Eye panelist during Gutfeld's tenure.

He will officially take over as co-host sometime this month.
