Fox scales back 'Past Life' order

Midseason crime drama's episode count lowered to seven

Fox has reduced its episode order for midseason crime drama "Past Life."

The network is scaling back its commitment to the Warner Bros. series to seven episodes (including the pilot). The drama is currently scheduled to have an "American Idol" lead-in next year on Tuesday nights.

In the drama, an investigative team uses past life regression to solve crimes.

"Due to the return of 'American Idol,' '24' and our other midseason programming in January, as well as the back order of 'Glee,' we have a wealth of material for midseason and can only accommodate seven episodes of 'Past Life on our schedule," said Fox in a statement.
