The daily syndicated show featuring radio personalities from three cities has grown its audience by 10 percent over the past year

Dish Nation, which features radio personalities discussing the latest entertainment news on television, has been renewed for two years through the 2016-17 season by the Fox Television Stations.

The syndicated daily show, which features radio hosts from Atlanta, Dallas and Los Angeles, hasn't gotten the attention of some of the better-known shows, but it has steadily grown its ratings. According to Fox, Dish Nation is averaging about 1.4 million viewers a day, up 10 percent over the same period one year ago.

"The challenge in covering entertainment news/pop culture is doing it differently — Dish Nation is doing it differently," said Frank Cicha, senior vp programming for the Fox stations, who made the announcement Tuesday along with Stephen Brown, executive vp programing and development for the Fox TV Stations.

"This year, Dish has raised the bar on what it's good at — honest, ethnically diverse, unapologetic and often very funny takes on this stuff," added Cicha. "We see it as a show with big upside, and audiences in our key time periods and upgrades have backed us up."

Dish Nation is also showing growth in the digital world. "The rise in Dish Nation's viewership coincides with an increase in brand awareness across our digital platforms," said Brown. "Since completely overhauling in June, we have seen an impressive 467 percent increase in page views. This increased engagement speaks to audiences and fans' growing enthusiasm for the program."

Dish Nation's ratings have grown in many of the largest markets where Fox has stations. Over the past year they are up 67 percent in L.A., 100 percent in Houston, 50 percent in Dallas and 300 percent in Tampa Bay, according to Fox.

The featured teams on the show are Atlanta's Rickey Smiley Morning Show (WHTA), hosted by Rickey Smiley, Headkrack, Rock-T, Gary, da Tea and The Real Housewives of Atlanta's Porsha Williams; Dallas's Kidd Kraddick in the Morning with Kellie Rasberry, Jenna, Big Al Mack and J-Si; and in Los Angeles, the Heidi & Frank Show (KLOS) with Frank Kramer and Heidi Hamilton and sidekicks Erik Scott Smith and Sammi Marino.

Dish Nation is distributed in syndication by 20th Television, Michael Bachmann is executive producer, and Matt Blanock and Randy Christini are co-executive producers.
