Fox ups Marc Wooldridge in Australia

Marketing director takes over from Marcos Oliveira

SYDNEY -- Twentieth Century Fox Australia has promoted Marc Wooldridge to managing director, replacing Marcos Oliveira, who is leaving Fox to return to Brazil.

Oliveira has been at Fox in Australia since 2006, overseeing the release of some of the studio's most successful titles, including Baz Lurhmann's "Australia," "The Simpsons Movie," "Borat," "Little Miss Sunshine" and "Juno."

"Fox has enjoyed tremendous success in Australia under Marcos' excellent leadership, and I am sorry to see him go," vp Fox Asia/Pacific Sunder Kimatrai said Monday. "Nevertheless, we are very happy to offer Marc the opportunity to continue his outstanding work in that dynamic market."

In his native Brazil, Oliveira will assume a yet to be specified role in the industry.

Wooldridge, who's been in his current position since September 2006, has 17 years of sales and marketing experience with Fox International. He takes up the position Feb. 9 and will report directly to Kimatrai.
