Fox's Jim Gianopulos to Deliver USC School Of Cinematic Arts Commencement Address

The CEO will be on hand, and Marvel president Kevin Feige will be presented with the Mary Pickford Alumni Awards at the May 16 event.

Jim Gianopulos, chairman and CEO of 20th Century Fox, will deliver the commencement address at the 2014 USC School of Cinematic Arts graduation ceremony on May 16, it was announced Monday by Dean Elizabeth Daley.

At the same event, Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios and a USC film school grad, will be presented with the Mary Pickford Alumni Award. Past recipients include Brian Grazer, Jay Roach, Robert Zemeckis and Shonda Rhimes.

Gianopulos, who oversees feature product, marketing and distribution at Fox, across all markets worldwide, is also a member of the School of Cinematic Arts’ Board of Councilors. He is also a trustee of the American Film Institute, at trustee of Carnegie Mellon and serves on the board of Southern California Public Radio and the Anti-Defamation League and the Board and Executive Committee.

At Marvel Studios, Feige oversees features, playing a role in the release of a string of blockbusters since he joined the company 2000. That includes the recently released Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Marvel’s The Avengers, which set the all-time, three-day weekend box office in 2012.

Founded more than 85 years ago in collaboration with the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, it has more than 11,000 alumni across the industry. According to the school, since 1973 not a year has passed without a graduate being nominated for Academy and Emmy Awards.
