The movies include 'Hollywood Adventures,' which is expected to be a big hit this summer.

Fox International Channels' subsidiary Star Chinese Movies (SCM) has agreed to acquire the TV and digital media rights to three major Chinese movies from private mainland China company Enlight Media.

The films include Hollywood Adventures, produced by Enlight Media, director Justin Lin and Sun Seven Stars Entertainment; the coming of age drama The Left Ear; and the comedy Lost in Hong Kong, starring Zhao Wei and directed and starring Xu Zheng.

The films will be available on SCM linear, VOD and online catch-up service (SCM Play) after their theatrical releases in Hong Kong and Southeast Asia.

SCM is available globally in 12 countries, including Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Cambodia, the Philippines, United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

"Mainland Chinese films and TV content have gained more popularity across the region," said Cora Yim, SVP of Chinese Entertainment at FOX International Channels. "FIC believes in the power of Chinese content and its ability to travel, and we are leading the charge in bringing this genre to a worldwide audience."

Zhang Yamin, head of international sales and distribution at Enlight, said FIC had a close partnership in overseas markets with Enlight.

"We hope to bring the best of Chinese content to the world riding on such a quality platform," said Zhang.
