France in the picture for iTunes TV downloads

More than 450 episodes already on offer

PARIS -- After years of waiting, Apple has finally given in to the iTunes craze in France and has made TV series available for iTunes downloading.

Popular programs from the country's main content suppliers, including TF1, France Televisions, Arte, Mediatoon, Disney and MTV networks, are now available for download for Mac and PC users.

At its launch, the service features more than 25 programs and 450 episodes, including notable titles such as "Chez Maupassant," popular kids cartoon "Lucky Luke," U.S. series "Desperate Housewives," "Lost" and "Ugly Betty" that air on TF1, and France 2's daily adolescent soap "Coeur Ocean."

The shows are starting at a cost of 1.49 euros ($2.32).
