France's TF1 inks for U.S. shows on VOD

VOD platform to offer shows 24 hours after U.S. airdates

PARIS -- After saving French television lovers from having to wait months for their "Heroes" fix, TF1's VOD platform TF1 Vision will offer seven other major U.S. series just 24 hours after their original U.S. airdates, the broadcaster said Thursday.

TF1 has inked deals with NBC Universal, Warner Bros. and Disney-ABC to offer new episodes of "Gossip Girl," "One Tree Hill," "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles," "House," "Grey's Anatomy" and "Ugly Betty" for 1.99 euros ($2.91).

Dubbed or subtitled episodes can be downloaded at or via cable operators Neuf, Alice, SFR, Free, Club Internet and Numericable. Consumers also will be able to view new episodes of the fifth season of "Lost" as of January.
