Fred Fuchs tapped as 'Camelot' exec producer

Leaves Canadian Broadcasting Corp. for Starz series

TORONTO -- Former American Zoetrope president Fred Fuchs has bolted the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. to become executive producer of Take 5 Productions' new version of "Camelot" for Starz Entertainment.

Fuchs, currently manager of production enterprises for CBC Television, will leave the public broadcaster after four years in its executive suite.

Fuchs was originally named executive director of arts and entertainment at the CBC in 2006 just as the Canadian public broadcaster shifted to a more commercial primetime schedule to boost ratings and ad revenue.

The multipartite "Camelot" co-production will see Take 5 oversee post production in Toronto on an initial 10-episode order from the U.S.-based Starz, with production set for Ireland starting this summer.

Toronto-based Take 5 Productions is also co-producing "The Borgias" for CTV and Showtime.
