Fremantle, Singapore MDA sign production pact

SINGAPORE - FremantleMedia Enterprises and Singapore's Media Development Authority agreed Tuesday to invest in multimedia TV projects they say will generate $12 million over the next two years.

Building on a collaboration begun last year on the culinary lifestyle show "Kylie Kwong: My China," FME and the MDA will choose new projects from Singapore-based producers and FME will distribute them across platforms around the world.

In a joint statement, Christopher Chia, the MDA's CEO, said the deal will help to develop 'Made-by-Singapore' content for sale across platforms, and FME's CEO, David Ellender, said the it furthers the strategy to source local content from around the world and offer a wider range of factual programming to the global marketplace.

On Monday, Fremantle announced a television production deal with Man Union in Japan.
