FremantleMedia takes full control of Blu

Acquires remaining 25% of Scandi production house

COLOGNE, Germany -- Format giant FremantleMedia has taken full control of Danish production house Blu, buying the remaining 25% of the company.

Blu is the market leader for non-fiction formats in Denmark and Sweden and is responsible for local-language versions of FremantleMedia hits including "Farmer Wants a Wife," "Idols" and "X Factor." Fremantle took majority control of Blu in 2005.

Blu founder Henrik Hancke Nielsen has been promoted to the job of executive producer at FremantleMedia North America.

Blu and FremantleMedia did not discuss the financial details of the deal.
